How do we choose an air cooler?
1. The air cooler can be installed horizontally, horizontally vertically or obliquely, but it is necessary to make its condensate flow along the lower side of the ribs, so as to avoid water accumulation in the ribs and reduce the heat transfer performance and increase air resistance;
2. The lower part should be installed with a drip tray and a drain pipe, when the equipment is stacked, an intermediate drip tray and a drain pipe should be installed between the two equipment, and the drain pipe should be equipped with a water seal to avoid inhaling air;
3. According to the direction of air flow, the equipment can be connected in parallel or in series. Generally, when the amount of air passing through is large, parallel connection should be used; When the air temperature drop is large, it should be connected in series. Equipment connected in parallel, water supply pipes should also be connected in parallel; Equipment connected in series, water supply pipes should also be connected in series. Cold water and air should flow in the opposite direction.
4. In the air cooler, the air and the refrigerant should flow in the opposite direction, and the mass flow rate of the windward surface is generally 2.5-3.5kg/(㎡.s), when the mass flow rate is greater than 3kg/(㎡.s), a fender should be added behind the equipment. For equipment with water spray devices, fenders should generally be installed.
5. The inlet temperature of cold water should be at least 3.5 °C lower than the dry bulb temperature of the outlet of the air, and the temperature rise of cold water should be 5-10 °C, and its flow rate should be 0.6-1.5m/s. The evaporation temperature of the refrigerant direct expansion air cooler should be at least 3.5 °C lower than that of the outlet of the air; when the room temperature air conditioning system is fully loaded, the evaporation temperature should not be lower than 0 °C; and frost on the surface should be avoided when the load is low.
6. The number of air cooler rows along the air flow direction generally adopts 4-6 rows, and should not exceed 8 rows.
7. When selecting equipment, factors such as surface area ash and inner wall scaling should be considered to add specific coefficients to increase the heat transfer area. During operation, the method of reducing the initial temperature of water can also be used to compensate for the decrease in heat transfer coefficient.
